Monday Makeup Favourites

Today I felt in a casual mood when I woke - wanted to look like I had makeup on but at the same time I didn't want to look too made up.  This is the make up I chose.

Chanel Viatlumière Aqua Foundation - perfect foundation for a light to medium coverage, though very build able should you need more.

Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel - this beautiful creamy bronzer is a new edition to my makeup bag and I am really loving it for the perfect glow.  The texture is gorgeous - it reminds me of a chocolate mousse.

MAC Cream Colour Bases in Hush - this is the perfect highlighter for summer and I recommend everyone buys it.  This multi purpose cream base can be used on it's own or layered over foundation and/or powder for a natural looking sheen.

Urban Decay Naked Basics - this is a staple part of my daily routine, I love the neutral shades.

Cargo Cream Blush - Maul - this cream blush sits on the skin flawlessly and gives your cheeks a nice rosey glow - I wear this on the days I am not using a setting powder as cream sits better on a liquid base.

L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Eye Pencil - Brown - great eye pencil which can be used to fill in your brows or as an eyeliner.

Lancôme Hypnôse Star - Noir Midnight - I adore this mascara and is one of my top 5.

What do you have on your face today?

By the way I forgot to take a photo of it but I am wearing Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple on my lips.

If you have been searching for the perfect contour palette then look no further than

This smashing little compact by Cargo has all your cheek needs in the one place - Highlight, Blush and Contour  - no more hunting around when you are in a rush, this is perfect for when you are on the go too.   As you can see from the photo above - I have had fair wear out of mine already - I normally hold off trying anything before photographing for the blog but I couldn't resist!

Each shade is really pigmented, and although these are powders there isn't much residue on application which you may find with other brands.  It comes with a great sized mirror too.

I picked this up at the Cargo event I attended, as soon as I saw it I new I needed this for my collection.  I have been searching for a contour palette for a long while now and I am extremely happy with the quality of this.

I got Contour 01 - Malibu  but it does come with a slightly darker shade of blush this one is called Monaco.

Monaco & Malibu

This palette is just perfect for the summer months.

Beauty Bay are currently selling these for £19.58 RRP £22.00, you can get yours here.

Ruby & RiRi Woo - Retro Matte Lipsticks by MAC

Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo Image

Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo Image

MAC Ruby Woo Retro Matte Lipstick

Ruby Woo is my absolute favorite Red Mac Lipstick.  I recently said in my '30 before 30' challenge post that I would like to find my 'signature scent and lipstick'.  I think Ruby Woo is a definitely a contender.  This is the second Ruby Woo I have owned, and I will continue to repurchase this as long as MAC keep making it.

Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo Image

Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo Image

Ruby Woo

Is a highly pigmented bright red color with blue tones.  It is very vivid and very matte - which I personally prefer - as would anyone else who prefers a matte lip.  It is a perfect 'standout in the crowd lipstick' .

Yes the packaging is a bit underwhelming compared to some MAC designs but because the product is that beautiful -  I am happy with the sturdy packaging - less chances of damage!

Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo Image
One of the The only real negative I have with the Retro Matte lipsticks is that they are a little dry on application, my lips need to be extremely moisturized before hand.  This is easily remedied - I use a lip scrub and a lip balm before hand if my lips are feeling a little dry.

RiRi Woo

RiRi Woo Retro Matte Lipstick- Yes I am one of those mad fans that snapped this little gem up when It was first launched - I actually paid a bit too much for it - I got it on EBay, I couldn't resist.  I kind of wish I had more patience but I had polished off a bottle of red wine, on the Saturday night, I claim diminished responsibility.

I was drawn to RiRi Woo because it was compared to Ruby Woo and in actual fact there aren't many differences between them.  RiRi is slightly brighter and a little pinker than Ruby but just as beautiful - with its cool blue undertones.  I think it is gorgeous.  Rihanna herself said that she modeled  the shade on Ruby Woo because it is a personal favorite.

Love her or loathe her you cannot argue that Rihanna has great taste in lipstick.

I have to admit though for a Limited Edition piece, the packaging  should have been fancier - a little bit prettier like the Nikki or Gaga lipsticks.  I do however like the RiRi embossed signature on the lipstick itself.

As far as I'm aware RiRi Woo is currently unavailable to buy from MAC however, they are due to launch the next phase of the Rihanna brand in June and RiRi Woo will be available to buy then again too.

However, if you are a Ruby Woo lover like me you can buy it from MAC here for £14.00

What is your favourite?  What do you make of Riri Woo?

Ps if you are wondering why I didn't post a picture of me wearing RiRi... well it's because i'm going to do a giveaway soon.  So keep your eyes peeled. xx

Lime Crime - Velvetines - Liquid Lipstick & Look

Image of Lime Crime Velvetines
I am in love with Lime Crime Cosmetics
'"COLOR IS NOT A CRIME. IT'S A WAY OF LIFE."
About Lime Crime'In 2005, Founder Doe Deere posted step-by-step makeup instructions on her then-webpage, limecrime.net. It was so well received that she ended up doing another one, and another, and then another. Within the year her website became a well-respected portal of makeup tips, launching a global trend of online makeup tutorials. There was only one problem: true-to-color makeup Doe loved so much was next to impossible to find. No brands made it, no stores carried it. Armed with nothing more than an idea and an intense passion for cosmetics, Doe launched a line of custom lipsticks and eyeshadows in 2008.In 4 short years, Lime Crime has become synonymous with high-performance cosmetics. The range now boasts eyeliners, nail polish, eyeshadows and over 20 lip colors (Lime Crime's signature). Lime Crime has graced the faces of celebrities such as Adele, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj'
Many of the Lime Crime products are Vegan but all are cruelty free.
I am particularly fond of the Lime Crime Velvetines 'liquid lipsticks'
Image of Lime Crime Velvetines

Firstly, Lime Crime packaging is always that little bit special and these liquid lipsticks are no exception to the rule, they are pretty spectacular.

These are my favourite shades.  Red Velvet and Suedeberry.

Red Velvet is a bright vivacious red with some blue tones (fabulous for any complexion).   Suedeberry is a rich coral.  Both lipsticks are extremely pigmented and last hours.

The Lime Crime liquid lipsticks are non sticky and non gloopy which is a huge bonus! I call them liquid lipsticks because they do not feel like glosses at all - the texture is unusual it is almost like a paint - but for your lips.

Each of these shades have a matte finish which I particularly love, though if you wanted to add some gloss for sheen that would work well too.

I have created two looks for these lipsticks - I hope you like them.

This is the first 'look' post I have created, I'd appreciate your feed back - would you like to see more like this?

More importantly, these gorgeous Velvetines are available to buy on the Cocktail Cosmetics website for £11.50 and are a definite collectors piece for your collection.

Cargo Cosmetics Official UK Launch

On Thursday evening I was invited to the launch of the first 'Cargo Cosmetics' counter in the UK.  This is very exciting - Aberdeen aren't normally first in any thing (well maybe 30 years ago! ⚽).

For those of you who, like me, were/are unfamiliar with Cargo Cosmetics here is some back ground information:
'In 1996, CARGO founder Hana Zalzal set out to create a professional color cosmetic line that top makeup artists would covet, yet would be easy enough for all women to enjoy. Working with some of the most talented makeup artists in the business, CARGO launched a multitude of award-winning products, never-before-seen packaging, and groundbreaking formulas. It wasn't long before CARGO became the one to watch and garnered recognition from around the globe as the most creative and innovative brand on the beauty scene today.'
Cargo Cosmetics are readily available in the States but left the UK some time ago, thankfully they have returned with an astounding range of beautiful makeup.  They cater for everyone, top quality and reasonably priced.  Cargo's most expensive product is their 'Magic Brush'  for I think they said £24.  It is a multi task brush and it is brilliant.

They are well known for their water resistant blushers and bronzers - absolutely nothing shifts these babies.   However, the range of lipgloss colours and eyeshadow palettes are impressive.

Cargo Cosmetics
Only £7.50 for a lip gloss!

Cargo Cosmetics

I love the fact that their foundation packaging reminds me of a Capri Sun!

We spent the evening eating cupcakes and getting a Cargo make over. I was really pleased with mine, the girl who did my make up is called Shazida and she is very talented.  Shazida is the counter manager for Cargo in Debenhams, Aberdeen so pop in and say hello, and ask to try out the products.  They are all extremely friendly.

couldn't stop giggling at the girls taking photos of me.

Alessandra getting her makeup done, shes is the youngest member of our group and is beautiful

This is Rachel, isn't she stunning.

I think the best part of the evening though was getting to spend time with fellow bloggers, for a long while I thought I was the only Aberdeen Blogger - i'm so glad that this thought was remedied when the lovely Laura from Liparazzi got in touch with me and asked me to join 'North East Blogger Events' .  I have had so much fun meeting the girls.

Let me introduce you.

Kirsty and I waiting for our makeovers.

It was a really great evening.  At the end we were given some amazing Cargo Goodie bags - I almost feel off my seat when I opened mine -

But of course I wouldn't be me without splurging a bit myself.  I bought some Cargo goodies too which I will be reviewing shortly so keep your eyes peeled.

I am going to display a widget on my side bar introducing you to all the 'North Easties', so please take a second while having your coffee to nip over and check them out.  There are so many girls to mention in this post so if I keep them all in the one place, it will be so much easier for you to find.

Aberdeen were the first to Launch Cargo and if you don't have a counter near you, you can buy the products online at Debenhams now.  I believe they are launching in the flagship store on Oxford Street this week which is very exciting.

Have you tried Cargo yet?

PS - sorry for this really long post, I had more photies than I originally thought - chuckle..
