I had been feeling run down for some time, battling dry, spotty, irritable skin. I really needed to remedy this so I decided to take a good look at my skin care regime.
I am terrible for the latest 'fads' I like to try new products. I have come to realise that I need to find something that works for me and stick with it. Switching products constantly isn't good for your skin which I have come to realise.
A while ago I received Demalogica Cleansing Gel and Dermalogica Microfoliant to try and until about Christmas time they were just lying in a box full of products I'd yet to review. I can honestly say I shouldn't have put off using them.
Dermalogica was not not a brand that I was familiar with before receiving these samples.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
I begin my daily skin care regime by apply Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel to clean my face thoroughly.
The packaging is very plain, I probably would have walked past it in the shops as it isn't very eye catching, this is all about the quality of the product. No gimmicky slogans, or bright nasty designs.
It is a clear substance and does not have much of a scent - which is brilliant for me, because my skin is very sensitive to perfumed products.
It removes my make up (including mascara) well and my skin is left feeling fresh.
I have 4 samples sizes of this and I plan on purchasing the full 250ml bottle when I can - it is £25.50 but I am prepared to spend money on a quality cleanser.
Dermalogica daily microfoliant
After applying the cleanser I apply the microfoliant (everyday).
This product intrigued me long before trying it. Since receiving it, I had looked at it for a while wondering about it.
This is a daily exfoliant powder which I was a bit sceptical about because after doing an exfoliant or skin mask, because they bring the impurities to the surface I was concerned that this may give me a constant out break. However, this has not been the case. If anything it has done the opposite.
Very simply packaged again, when removing the lid it reminded me of baby talc.
Which looks a bit odd but I didn't let it put me off giving it ago. It isn't overly scented you can smell the rice extracts, in fact it does smell of boiled rice.
To apply this you shake some of powder onto wet hands and rub into a paste.
You then apply this all over your face and massage in. Whilst massaging this in you will get the strangest feeling of soft and rough, it really is the rough with the smooth, whilst being kind to your skin it is gently exfoliating. Once rinsed I can say hand on heart my face was squeaky clean, I could actually here the squeaking.
The full size 75g product costs £38.50 which again is pricey but worth it - it will last you a long time. I have had my 13g tub for over 2 months now. A little will go a long way.
I give these products from Dermalogica 10/10. I am really impressed with them.
